Dow Chemical Ibérica S.L. (DCI) is the subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company (TDCC) in the Iberian Region (Spain and Portugal). The company has manufacturing and R&D premises in Tarragona (Spain), Ribaforada (Spain) and Estarreja (Portugal) with the headquarters located in Madrid (Spain), employing approximately 825 direct people and 650 people from service providers companies.
The Dow Industrial Complex in Tarragona consists in two production sites; Dow North and Dow Derivatives. The Ethylene Cracker (Olefins Plant) and Octene Plant units are located in the Dow North site and constitutes the building block manufacturing facilities for the downstream polyolefins production in the manufacturing units located in the Dow Derivatives site. In the past 10 years, Dow Ibérica has invested more than 800 million € in the modernization and upgrade of its Tarragona manufacturing units to increase its competitiveness, productivity, safety and environmental-friendly approach. Dow Ibérica has also 2 R+D+i Excellence Ceters in Water and Films technologies.

Ignasi Torra is Master Degree in Chemistry (Universitat de Barcelona) with more than 35 years of experience in the petrochemical industry (Olefins Plant, Octene Plant and Polyethylene Technologies), 27 of them in the Ethylene Manufacturing Technology (Technology Associate). During his professional career, Ignasi performed different roles as Process Engineer, Production Engineer, Improvement Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Manager and Turnaround Manufacturing Representative.
Alfred Arias is Master Degree in Chemical Engineering (Institut Quimic de Sarría – Barcelona -) and in Industrial Engineering (Universitat Ramon Llull – Barcelona -) and Applied Petrochemical Post-Degree (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – Barcelona). 15 years of experience in the Ethylene Technology, performing roles as Production Engineer, Improvement Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Manager and Operations Leader. Currently, he is responsible for Innovation Support and Learning in Dow Chemical Ibérica S.L.
